    Trip report.

Well in our tuning circles we have a rule of thump that says dont go over 800°C (1472°F) for a longer period, otherwise the edges of the pistons can start to melt. So your 1300° readings leave some security in the whole EGT thing. I´ve tried a Land Rover Tdi engine with some 950°C (1742°F) for...

    Trip report.

Hey, when i read about your EGT´s i get the shivers! My old girl still has the stock injectors but it´s chiped and has a huge intercooler. In the hot summer months when i´m pulling 7500lbs+ trailers in the hills i can manage to get her up to almost 850°F. In all day use she runs on a little bit...

Introduction and already the first problem

Haven´t heared from me for a while? Well here´s what happened in the last few weeks. The dalership called a test engineer from the german Ford headquarter in colounge which is specialized in US-Ford. He traveled the 600mls down to bavaria to have a look and guess what.....NOTHING! All that...

Not a bad idea. As i see theese things are quite affordable in the US. Hey guys, you don´t know how lucky you are. Not too long ago i asked a lockal dealer of the biggest car electric company in germany (Bosch) for a Diagnostic computer with the whole bunch of cables and software......18 grand...

Introduction and already the first problem

Hello again, the story ain´t over yet! After a few phonecalls the stealership admitted that the european computer has no access to most of the engines sensors. They are not able to have the HPOP pressure checked and they also cant check the injectors without removing them from the engine. The...

Oh boy, i hope you´ve got better workshop´s over there. The guy that started to work on our truck is sick, the next one gone on vacation and now finaly they found out (after almost three weeks!) that the fuel pressure under load is going near zero. Now they check the lift pump.....

Introduction and already the first problem

Does the 7.3 PSD use different sensors for the coolant temp gauge and the computer? The gauge never showed anything else but normal but the computer gets a temperature signal way above that as my dealer says. Could that be problem? The computer "thinks" the engine is too hot and simply cuts...

Guess what the computer said!? NOTHING! (eccept from a power source skip caused by pulling the chip)-mad Good tip on the IPR Sensor, i´ll try that! BJS also wrote something about O-Rings inside the IPR that can wear out. Maaanny things to be checked...... I´ll let you know if i find...

Well, somehow i don´t think it´s the CPS. The Tachometer works which i think schould be a indicator for a good CPS cause it uses the same signal. I also pulled the chip out and had a test ride. The problem came later (at harder acceleration/steeper grades) but it wasstill there. At the moment...

Aaaahh you can see the oil coming out of the injectors. That makes things much easyer. At a V8 it´s realy hard to say if there is one cylinder "missing" at idle especially when it´s a intermitted problem. With our common inline fourbangers this is MUCH easyer. A CPS is already on the way over...

The Truck has 80kmls on the clock. It´s a canadian version with km/h speedo, towing package an so on (gota change to a bigger tranny oil cooler soon!) I´never seen the CEL on this truck. I checked it and it works but what the heck must break down that this light comes up:confused: I also...

Introduction and already the first problem

Well first of all thanks for your help by now and most of all thanks for the warm welcome. I´ll start with the oil change. The last one was some 6-7kmls ago. The manual says that´s ok but who knows. The fuel filter was replaced with this oil change. The lift pump delivers 75-85 PSI which...

Hello from Gremany to the US My name´s Robin and i´m very glad i found this forum due to the fact that F-Series Trucks are such rare beasts over here. Let me come straight to the point. First i hat the common studer problem which was solved by changing the under valve cover harnesses. Now...
