    Try the 2-cycle oil at Walmart. 'bout $10 a gallon but it's cheaper than a ring job. I use about 1 oz per gallon. Really seems to quiet the rattling.

    I used Rotella 15W40 oil in my Chevy Citation V6 for 11 years. The oil was free at my job and I was poor and struggling.... Never had ANY oil related problems so your Mom should be just fine.

    I think I fixed it! I opened the separator drain while the engine was running (only for a few seconds) and after about 1/2 litre of fuel blew out I closed the drain. The water-in-fuel light hasn't come on all day and I've made several hard right (and left) turns today.
