    let me ask u this JL, did u have problems before your's starting leaking??? Mine was going threw all gears still fine & going in reverse fine still as well.

    When I dropped my tranny it looks like all I have to do is replace my bushing & seals for the leak to stop & put a new converter on it. I looked in the tranny pan & their was no shaving in the pan & the pump was good as well.

    What do u mean doug, my tranny was pouring fluid out real bad & a guy at this shop said he would rebuild it for 650 & I buy the new torque converter. I didnt think u could build a 4r100 tranny that cheap.

    I had a guy to tell me he could rebuild my tranny for 650 if I pull it! I thought dat was cheap for a tranny rebuild, should I fool with this guy??

    Thanks fellas!!! Im just gone get it rebuilt so I am bout to drop my tranny today & send it to a shop, would I need to get a torque converter as well??

    I was told that I needed a new pump & a torque converter in my transmission. Fluid is pouring out of the hole under the truck were the transmission is located & I wanted to know if it would be best to replace the whole tranny or just let them rebuild whats wrong with it????:dunno Any help would...

    I use wix for my filter & have not had no problems, I think wix is a good filter for the replacement of motorcraft.

    X2 on wht stroked68 said, I have a 2000 expedition 5.4 & they r known 4 spitting plugs out but they have a cheap fix 4 it which is a insert 4 the plug but those 5.4 run forever!! good motor
