    1 ton ford vs ram

yeah, I've always preferred the ford body (inside and out), but it's been awhile since I've really been in a new dodge, so I wasn't sure if they'd gotten any better lately. thanks

right now just what I can put in the bed I think (if the guy I'm runnin for ever actually calls me with any work!...). :innocent :dunnoThinking ahead, I'm looking at a g-neck (thus, a diesel). and snow-wise, there's maybe a half inch on the grass here & there, roads are good. I'm south tip of...

    1 ton ford vs ram

yeah, I've looked at doing a fummins implant on my 5.4 gasser, but by the time I bought all the stuff and paid a shop I trust to do it (not enough space or tools to do it myself) I'd be better off just buying another truck. I figured it'd cost 20Gs easy, since I'd need diesel parts from two...

    1 ton ford vs ram

that's been my experience too, but not with anything newer than '09, and mostly just with Fords first-hand. I agree, a ford cummins setup would be the ideal combo. That's why I was wondering if dodge had learned to build a better truck to go with their outsourced engine recently. :nutkick:

    1 ton ford vs ram

I'm looking at doing hotshot hauling and am looking at ford vs ram... I figure the cummins is the better engine, simpler, fewer parts, etc. But i don't know about the other maintenance issues with the new trucks. I know the 2010 style fords you have to pull the whole cab to do much of anything...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

The 1/2" plate is just the two hangers from the frame. The rest of the steps are the handrail tube (and a couple of gussets out of some 1/4" ? I had laying around). I've got some pics on my phone, but don't have way to get them on computer. Maybe I'll bum a digi camera. They're not 7' long...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

well, honestly, it wasn't today (or even yesterday), but I built a set of steps from handrail tube and 1/2" steel plate to replace the rusted out Westins that were about 10 years old. Nice TIG welds and some spraycan bedliner and bolted them straight to the frame instead of the (IMO) crappy...

    Noob Howdy y'all!

Hey y'all. new here. mostly just wishin' I'd spec'd my '02 250 w/a 7.3 instead of the 5.4. If I only knew then what I know now........ Tent company I work for has a couple of f450s, one a '04 6.0l and the other a '09 6.4l. Both bone stock. My gasser is sans muffler with dual tailpipes and a...
