6.4l Serpentine belt chirp noise fix

Question Ford Dealer Cheating Me ? Alternator PCM
Thanks, gentlemen. We bought a scan tool (on sale at Autozone) Saturday. Ran scans on both my truck and his. The tool worked great. No problems found. Those babies have come a LONG way since I fooled with one 15 years ago! This forum really helps a lot Thanks again.- sheriffjohn

Question Ford Dealer Cheating Me ? Alternator PCM
2008 diesel super duty 250 crew cab. Cruise control not working. Went to Auto Zone, had batteries & charging system checked. Batteries fine. Alternator ok. Voltage Regulator failed. Ford Dealer said must replace alternator as voltage regulator is now inside alternator. Diagnosed cruise control...- sheriffjohn

Well......Advice from the forum was correct. $785 later, I now have a new serpentine belt and two tensioners "courtesy" of Tom Boland Ford in Hannibal, Mo. The forum was absolutely correct as far as diagnosis was concerned. Pricey but much better than losing a belt somewhere on the road. My 08...- sheriffjohn

I just signed up this morning. Info on chirping noise was right on. Belt and tensioner will be replaced Monday on my '08 superduty diesel. Info not only pinpointed the problem but gave me talking points when I take it to the dealership. Good to see a site with truck pros actively involved. Thanks !- sheriffjohn
