    The cummins is a good motor. Peak power at 2400 means less frictional hp loss than at 3000. 17 hp loss at 2500 rpm and 21 hp loss at 3000 rpm.     The straight 6s are real stout motors. I guess that it comes down to what I find at the junk yard. I think that the 5.9L cummins and the 7.3 IH make about the same torque. I probably should buy the tranny that came with the motor since they are all good tranys. The t-19 only cam with the 6.9...
