    6.0L alternator

I decided on a NAPA Gold, new 110amp. Little more pricy than O'Reilly but I trust NAPA a whole lot more. And it has a lifetime as well.

    Battery

I have the third set of Motorcraft Batteries in my 14 year old, 140,000 mile F250. The originals lasted 6 years, the first set of replacements lasted 7 years. I wouldn't use any other battery in my 2004 6.0L

Question Hot Shot's Secret Stiction Eliminator

I've used Hot Shots and Rev-X. Both worked great in my '04. And, I use ONLY Amsoil lubes in all areas.

    Question Question

Oh, and replace those crappy factory hoses with an aftermarket hose kit. I tow a 30ft 5er with my '04, and had blown hoses until I did the hose replacement and hairspray.

    Question Question

Here's a little hint for intercooler hose blowoff. Make sure to clean all oil from inside hose and off cooler Then, just before reinstalling hose, spray hose and cooler with cheap hairspray. Quickly slide hose on and tighten clamp.

    Ford F250 Super Duty

Not wanting to "degrade" anybody's posts or comments, so I'll just put my 2cents worth in. I have a 2004 F250 with the "so called" bad 6.0L., and I love my truck !! I have 135,000 on it and tow a 14,000 lb. 30ft 5er. So, take it with a grain of salt, but not ALL "2003-2011" trucks are bad. My...

    Helicopter like sound...

Hey RowdyNoe, I'm not a mechanic by trade, but I've done a lot of auto work, inc. on my 2004 F250 PSD. So, not wanting to degrade anybody's advice, but in my experiences, a fan with a clutch will still turn when engine is running. As I have been told, the fan clutch on these trucks is an...

Thanks to all who gave advice on the FICM repair & replacement. After all forums were contacted, I surmized that a new FICM would just get me the same part I had, and I would still have to have it programmed. So, I bought a rebuilt one for $200, shipped to my house. And all is well now. Truck...

Thank you DaveBen and Tman for the welcome. I am looking at getting my FICM repaired on one of the E-Bay repair shops. Anybody have any experiences with any of these, please let me know. I am looking at "ronh12". He has a video and is a Ford tech. He looks like he knows what he is doing and is...

Sorry about that. I am frustrated in my truck. After watching a couple web pages and doing some testing, I am believing that my FICM is bad, after only 85,000 miles. With ign. on I have 47.9V, with engine running I have 19.4V.
