10.9 is getting old.
I did not get the reprogram. I figured the Spartan had already done the update. I can not tell you what to get, maybe somebody else can. Spartan has again worked for me and made me happy. But its not just worlds better on milage, but is 2 to 3 better. And much better feel to the motor.- muddobber

I have not contacted Spartan about the surging yet, but talked with a guy who did. Hopefully have a fix soon, if not already. But the mileage is better than what you are getting. I have been happy with the 5 inch exhaust and tuner. Is it worth $1800? To me it is, because now I am somewhat happy...- muddobber

I will say I am a bunch happier with this truck now. The Spartain mods are a nice improvement, although not full proof. Seem to have a problem with surging at lower speeds now. But milage and power are much better. Still not 20, but running around getting 15 is more acceptable. I don't drive the...- muddobber

New DPF reprogram by Ford
I have the same question as Jeffro. Except I already have the Spartan delete program and no DPF chamber. Is it worth going to Ford and having my truck documented as not running a DPF chamber.- muddobber

Well, I finally did it. Got the Spartan box and 5 inch exhaust system. Don't know excatly yet what to expect, but will put the truck through its paces soon. Did get 19 mph on the way home, that never happened before. By the way, when my DPF came off we noticed alot of black soot out the exhaust...- muddobber

Just miles I guess. That was all Interstate driving, the 10.9 is running around home with short trips in the Winter. 12 is more normal in Summer. Truck has nearly 20K now.- muddobber

Just so you know I don't hate the Ford, just got back from a trip to Alabama. Running 76mph to 80mph the truck averaged 15 mpg for 1800 miles. The most impressive part was when I filled up in Northern Alabama at a Shell station. That tank went 16.7 mpg running 80 mile an hour for 368 miles...- muddobber

First tank went 24 mpg. That was just driving around, no long trips. So far I like the truck except the weinie looking wheels on the 2 wheel drive.- muddobber

Just got the truck this past week, and its going to take a while to drain the first tank out. 100 miles on the Ford and I was just above a half tank, but this thing has just moved off the Full mark. Will let you know, by the way I have an automatic with the 4 cylinder and access cab or extended...- muddobber

Well, I just could not stand it anymore. I have way too much money in this truck to just let it go, so I bought a Toyota Tacoma 4 cylinder to run around in. Did you hear that FORD, I bought a Toyota because your truck is costing me over $7000 a year in fuel. No excuses for the goverment crap...- muddobber

What I really want to know is if anyone has actually done a DPF Delete personally, not someone they know, and how it has worked out? Who makes the best kit? What does it cost? And is it worth doing or is it just spending more money? Sorry for the spelling, but everything looks o.k. in this post...- muddobber

I have had it to the Dealer 2 times and they have attached their laptop, then the bad news always comes next. Laptop says it has the latest program and there is nothing they can do. When I bought my 08 F250 I was really happy. Nice Truck, well built and excellent ride for a fairly heavy Truck. But I have never been happy with the 6.4. Milage has sucked from day one and not gotten any better in 17000 miles. Have put a new plastic thing on the front that was supposed to help...- muddobber

I tried, but my Dealer still says my Truck does not need an update. It was built 3 of 07. Is this a program that Ford is just letting out to a few dealers to try? They did tell me they have a major download for their computer at the end of this month, maybe it will be with that download.- muddobber
