    Bio diesel first run

Kelly - People I know, wash their BD about 5-6 times. The first 2 are usually gentle mist washes and the last 4 are bubble washes, with the bubbles coming up from the bottom of the tank, where the "wash water" is. Drain off and discard the water between each wash. Then the BD has to be dried...

    Bio diesel first run

I would imagine that if your WIF light came on that you are running unwashed fuel. Only use washed fuel in your PSD. Draining your bowl should turn off your light for a few hundred miles, but it will keep coming back on. It is the residual chemicals in your unwashed fuel that is causing this...

    I miss my TRUCK!!!

I'm sniveling with ya Tranny went out 2 weeks ago. Had it built, back on the road. Then it began to act funny again. Found hairline crack in case. Shop found a new case across the country and it shipped yesterday, probably 5 days till it arrives, then a few more days to put the guts back in it...

Biodiesel: Ford's response to my ??

Superdty - I'm glad you took the time to write to Ford. I doubt you were expecting any other answer than what you received - 5% is all they'll allow. I can't tell from your writings if you want to use BD or if you're just curious what Ford would say. Are you making it? Do you want to make...

CAN the 6.0 run on biodiesel?

Hoss I don't believe I missed the question at all. My second paragraph says yes you can. I just had more to say about it than just yes. Houndog

CAN the 6.0 run on biodiesel?

If I owned a 7.3 or especially a 6.0 and thought I would wake up one day, decide to make some fuel out of waste grease, and then throw it in the tank of my $50,000 truck that night - I'd need to have my head examined. Now - if I've learned how to take that grease and get a GOOD COMPLETE...

Installed V Code & B Code Springs, HOORAY!

Hey Snowman - After reading your original post about your spring swap a few weeks back, you got me so excited about it that I went out and slapped in V codes in front and Ranchos in all four corners - with alot of good help I might add. I decided to leave the rear springs alone cuz I only tow...

    Springs and shocks

For some folks, like myself, all this suspension stuff is like being on another planet. I didn't like the feel of what I had, but didn't really know what to do about it, or what to expect after making a change. With the help of two good friends last week, I now have V codes and rancho's. When...

    Water in fuel

Bubba - I can't speak from first hand 6.0 experience since I own a 7.3, but I can tell you this - the WIF light on mine was triggered by sediment in the fuel bowl. You might just take a look inside and see. My sediment wasn't coming out when opening the drain - I had to use Qtips down deep in...

    Rancho shock deals?

Funny you should ask - I just ordered the RS9000X adjustables today. Front and rears delivered were $274.00 . Of course I had to order the black boots to go on them cuz red was just not going to do it for me. I might just have to paint them all black too ! Along with the 4 boots it was...

    Need engine help!

It is quite possible that you may have the "mysterious injector harness clips coming loose problem". The older style harness, which has now been upgraded, would loosen up and make the 7.3 run like it was on 6 cylinders. This happened to me about 250 miles from home on a Sunday, and it was a...
