I think the cover cost me $62 including the longer bolts and was drilled and taped with plugs in it for draining and filling it. Not sure how much Mercon SP is at the dealership but i didnt think $3.39 a quart for a synthetic fluid was to bad. Now i was really excited for what i paid for...- david5303

Actually Bushpilot i already have one that is predrilled for a fill hole and a drain hole. Just trying to figure out if it is worth clearcoating to keep if from oxidizing or if the clearcoat will hold heat in off setting the advatages of the fins. Transfer Case
So to get this straight.......i would be good to go if....i used Royal Purple ATF in transfer case,Mercon SP in the transmission and Royal Purple 75W140 in the rear diff? ANd does the RP 75W140 need the Ford diff additive?- david5303

Trans Fluid?
The truck is at 75000 and new to me, so the safe easy thing is just drain the pan, change the external filter and replace with Mercon SP? I am having absolutely no problems, just trying to do the preventive maintance things. I just asked about the synthetic cause i know Royal Purple has a...- david5303

Trans Fluid?
Its time to change the tranny fluid in my 04 6.0 CC F350 SRW truck. So the question is do i replace it with Mercon SP like from the factory or do i go with synthetic? What are the advantages to either? And if a synthetic which brand and is it compatible with the 5R110 trans? Thanks David- david5303
