While I was under my truck putting on the block heater cable, I noticed that I had some areas where oil has appeared to have been leaking. Nothing major, yet, but still its leaking. Thanks, thats what I wanted to hear. I have yet to crawl under my truck for anything yet. But if the cost for simple repairs like that are going to be that high, looks like I'm going to be doing it myself, dano- bbdano

Hello, Has anyone had to replace the wiring going to their block heater recently? I've got a 2005 F-250 4x4 SuperCrew, 6.0 diesel. I didn't think the block heater was working. Took my Volt Ohm meter out and put it across the flat prongs of the plug, and bingo...nothing. I ended up taking it...- bbdano

oil,warranty Thanks Dave, I still got 20K to go on engine warranty, so I should still let my dealer change the oil, or at least use their reccomended oil, right? oil change That drain cock looks like something I may have to purchase, assuming that my oil pan does not have the recess in it that they tell about on that website. I've also been told that I should run Amsoil. I know that stuff is big bucks, but guys tell me that you don't have to change it...- bbdano

Block heater questions
I live in NW Ohio. We just saw some single digits the other night. I also travel to the Cadillac MI area to snomobile. I have access to plug my truck in at work, some nights. When it got down to 7 degrees F, I had it plugged in, and it took a few seconds to fire up. As far as the timer...- bbdano

Block heater questions
How can I tell if my block heater is working properly? I keep it connected for up to 10 hours at a time. Sometimes when I go to disconnect the truck, the plug at the extention cord connection is warm, is that normal?- bbdano
