    Vacuum reservoir

My truck has a vacuum over hydraulic actuator on it. It uses the stock system, and adds two hoses about 3/4" in diameter that go all the way to the back of the truck. I have no issues with this normally, but when pumping the brakes in bad weather I get a little spooked. I have begun using the...

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, VAC PUMP AGAIN!!!!

I buy almost all my parts from Ford. They give me a commercial discount and the prices are similar to the larts stores 95% of the time. I have NEVER had a ford replacement part fail. I can't say that about any other brand I have used.

We did have oil pressure at the beginning.... I'm still confused about that, but since he didn't know the AE program very well, I am wondering if his units were mixed up or something like that. Also, his batteries are only marginal. I think he needs a new set of batteries after this whole...

    Where's the factory radio amplifier

In my experience, the output of the amplifier is the same as the output of the regular stereo without premium sound. Can't you just pull the wire back up the dash and plug it in? Want to trade a nice working Sony CD player for that amp, harness, and any brackets? I want to go the other way -...

    I want 4wd

OK, lets help him out a little bit. You ahve two choices for 3/4 ton and 1 ton front ends for these years. It's the Dana 50 TTB and Dana 60 front end. The dana 50 has a lot more moving parts, and camber changes with load. This is OK for a vehicle that is a commuter vehicle and occasional...

    96 F350 Died on highway

Maybe he did something after I left last night, but we had it do the buzz test and tried to find the voltage during the buzz test, and couldn't find that. Is our procedure wrong? We were checking from ground to pin #'s 2&4 in the harness, and saw no voltage at all. We used an analog meter...

That's an inteeresting concept. That smoke is good, so we try to keep it inside.....

Very interesting..... I'll come over after work Friday. You may have luck with Al's salvage. Can't remember if he's got any strokes over there, but if he does, and can't figure out what that part is, you can probably get it for about what a case of beer runs..... Don't rent anything - just...

    Is an aftermarket Allison possible?

They came with allisn five speeds in buses, but they were heavy and not quite geared right for a light truck. So, yes, it's possible, but unlikely.

    96 F350 Died on highway

I ended up getting sent out of town today. Whoops. Did you get anywhere? I should be back Friday, and will be in town Saturday all day mowing at work. I am in agreement with the suggestion about the low pressure fuel side - I'd be curious to see how much fuel is coming out after the...

KD and I are both in agreement with you. We can try that tonight - but I'm sure it'll fire. The question is - where from there? If he has fuel pressure, the injectors work, the HPOP is working - what else can make it not start? I don't remember what the fuel pressure was - maybe he can chime...

    96 F350 Died on highway

Further, as long as he has enough pressure to fire the other injectors, it wouln't matter if one was on the fritz, would it? It would just run like crap. There was no smoke, nor could I even smell exhaust while we were trying to do this. Does the buzz thest test the injectors - or determine...

    96 F350 Died on highway

I'm going to change what I told you earlier. I thought the injectors needed 2000 psi, and they need 500. The pressure built quickly enough to 500 - we were only cranking it after all.

How many of us are there on this site with the old IDI's? I've got a 94 CC dually, dark green. It's just shy of 300k miles.
