Question The air dam under the front bumper

As I remember, the longer air dam WITH the newer optional 3.55 gears was supposed to add 1.5 MPG or so. The theory is that the chassis components under the front of the truck created air turbulence, which hurt mileage. The longer dam was std with the '08 job 2 and later, the shorter dam was on...

    which one is cyl 5

numbering Never gave it much thought on the ford diesel numbering, haven't needed to know (yet). Looks like Navistar went with the "Chevy" way of numbering. Makes sense to a point, the pistons (and cylinders) are numbered in the order they're installed on the crankshaft, one in front, eight...

Question TSB 09-16-2 Diesel engine ticking /tapping

I do not have the tick (12,500 miles), but I have heard reports of others that experienced it take the motor up to 3500rpm a few times or so and the tick goes away until the next oil change... I'm wondering if the high revs "blow out" some trapped air in the oil galleys or something similar...

trying to find fuel filters-- WHERE??

+1. Bought a set through them recently. Great price, quick delivery. I've heard rumblings from other fellas with fitment problems for the Wix/Fleet filters. The body of the filter holds a filter cover drain valve closed on these trucks. These aftermarket filters are believed to be a slightly...

Dyno Day 2nd Annual club dyno day!

What did the Cobra do this year with the exhaust on? Did you get to check out your quad run videos? I caught at least two of them on there. Looking forward to seeing them on Youtube someday. Take care, Tim

Very cool dyno day today, thanks, Zook, for the info. I would've liked to have seen what that King Ranch REALLY puts out, what a great truck! Maybe next year we'll bring out the 6.4L Thanks again! Tim

    Not Impressed!

True about the Ford site, but there are a few off-brand lurkers around here, check out some of the sigs. Besides, you're always welcome to stop by for old time's sake and see how we're making out! You can give us an unbiased opinion of the two brands and how much different (better or worse)...
