1st ive heard of it...whats so special about it ?
you can go down to radio shack and get a good 300rms/600peak
dc to ac invertor for about 60 bucks TOPS.

i run one for laptops (so the kids can watch movies on a 14.5" HD
laptop screen)

ditto
i got a 1750 watt inverter and mounted it to the unused ecm bracket/parking brake bracket and ran a cord for an outlet to the unused trash hook thing and then used an outlet from an escape which matces the interior fonts and sizes. I will look around for pics..

Hmmm, from what you guys are sayin, it sounds like its a myth. I guess the next best option would be to get a PI from RadioSmack. Thanks for the pics powerboatr! :thumbs

mines in between my seat and the center seat (40/20/40)...i dont have
the center console.

I wired mine to one of my carling switches (labled generator ;) mounted
in the removable fuse panel under the steering wheel....that way i
dont have to fumble 'round to turn it on...just flip a dash switch

you could also mount the inverter under the center seat or in a
console (if you have one)....allowing you to feed/hide cords when you
want something plugged in.

i wired mine HOT (even when the key is off) so that i can charge
laptops or other devices w/out having to shut them down when
i shut the truck off.

I DONT recommend leaving the inverter on all the time...

How are yall feeding 12v power to those invertors???

Large ones like Roberts are going to draw some amps.............

When I was thinking about installign an inverter, I was going to use fused, heavy-gauge welding cable connected directly to the passenger's-side battery.

Im directly connected to the battery !

As i recall i used 4ga or 8ga wire (course mine is rated
for much less...600w peak 300w rms...an ive NEVER
pulled more than 150w using TWO laptops)

personally i think these things are OVER RATED...most probably
couldnt produce the power stamped on their covers...and certainly
not using the cords provided.

i say resist the temptation to buy the biggest you can find...
cause w/out the proper wiring, batteries and alternator its
not likely you could ever product the power advertised

View my pics in the gallery of my 1200 watt. Works great as advertised 100 bucks from pep boys. I have 2ga wire running to the battery and a 250 amp anl fuse in the engine compartment. I have even used my circ saw with it in a pinch. Its not supposed to run it but it did. Also when i had my pop-up camper I ran the lights, TV, pump, furnace fan, in it for a while till the battery charged. (not all at once) truck running on high Idle two alts. I have a big shop vac that ill throw in the back of the truck so when I am waiting for the kids to get done with practice Ill vaccum my truck. You should see the looks I get from people. My wife thinks Im a freak. I love my inverter.
