The '01 350 is down again. Started it last night (cold) about 2 hours after it last ran. Rough idle, falls flat on its face with any throttle - it really wont even get out of its own way.

Got it into my shop, but just cranks and wont fire. No movement on the Oil pressure gauge during cranking. There was a somewhat loud clanking noise as it tried to light up, but nothing.

Any ideas?

that sounds to me more like a fuel pressure issue. What kind of fuel pressure are you getting?

I don't really know.

I'm now getting the oil pressure gauge to move while it cranks (it was a little over two quarts low) but it still won't fire up.

Can the HPOP lose its prime, or am I still barking up the wrong tree here?

Better check the hpop oil level, could still be low if the engine oil level was low. May take adding to get the injectors to fire.

Pull the IPR tear it down clean it out and then change your oil. That should get it to start for you.
