as some of yall know, our transport company hauls ford buybacks (ford calls it a ReAquired Vehicle Program, RAV for short). where the customer is unhappy, vehicle has had numerous repairs and still no resolution to the problems it may be having, etc., so the vehicle goes thru the buyback program. we get an order from a company that works with ford, they send us the order to pick it up, and then the unit goes to a dealer that is a certified RAV repair facility, they diag. the problem(s) and fix it, then it goes to a local auction that runs FOMO credit vehicles.

sidenote (red's truck should have gone thru this along time ago :roflmao )

we cover TX, LA, MS, AR, AL, TN, GA, NC, SC, KY

well, we just got our first order on a 2008 F250 to move from Dallas, TX to Fort Worth, TX.

we dont get the info as to why it was bought back from the customer, but i would assume that it has something to do with the recall on the flamethrower out of the tailpipe.

just thought members would find that interesting.

its all part of policy and procedure bush. i know it sounds crazy, but that is the way it works.

we once got an order for a RAV move in GA. the truck was at a ford dealer, and it literally went right next door to a mercury-lincoln dealer.

you could literally take about 1 minute to get in it, and drive it next door, and it paid 65.00 to do it.

this stuff pays awesome money and has really been a blessing to our business.

thanks guys, we just dispatched it to a company out of pampa, tx that has been moving some of this short run stuff for us in TX.

just to give you an idea of where it is and where its going,

AT: park cities ford

TO: texas motors ford

43.97 miles, 170.00 for the move, that equals 3.86 per mile, i'll take that kind of money all day long :thumbs :sweet

so why are they moving it from one dealer to another ?
seems a little shady to me...moving it from one dealer
to another (assuming its gonna be re-sold)

because the dealer in ft. worth would be an approved/certified ReAquired Vehicle repair facility.

nothin shady bout it, just the way ford does it.

not sure how a dealer becomes approved to do the repairs, but im sure not every dealer out there, wants to be part of the program, due to size of repair facility, technicians experience, and so on. could be a number of factors.
