Question 2008 PowerScope Mirror Covers

Has anyone taken the top outside covers off of their mirrors and painted them like they are from the factory on the FX4's and King Ranch's. I have checked with Ford to try to order them already painted and they told me that the covers are not available painted, only in black and I'd have to get them painted. Since this is the case I can just paint the covers I aready have, I just don't want to tear them up getting them off. Any help would be great, Thanks East

You can paint the ones that you have. Removing them will make fora much better job. It is hard to mask off the mirrors and do a good job shooting them on the doors. Not impossible, just easier.
