2008 Tailgate Ordered Today (non-step)

Here are some part numbers incase anyone else is lookin to get a 2008 tailgate.

the main body of the tailgate is the same for both the step & non-step.
the handle that is used, is actually the same as the newer F150's use.


Tailgate assembly = 8C3Z 9940700-A
Moulding (tailgate cap) = 8C3Z 9940602-AA
(i do believe that if you wanted to use the tailgate cap from the previous years tailgate, it would still work)
Tailgate Handle = 8L3Z 9943400-AAA
Ford Emblem = 8C3Z 1542528-A

The parts should be in Thursday, i will come back and post the prices for each item.

yeah i agree with platinum...but post the price when you can...im interested in knowing what they want for that...can't wait to see that on your truck.....and to think, you crushing your tailgate was supposed to be a bad thing

i'll see what i can do, buts its gonna be pricey. checkin on it the other day, it was gonna be close to 1000.00 for the tailgate, and that would be before paint.

had to order some more parts to make the tailgate work. i had to remove the "rollers" where the tailgate hinges. these "roller (its what ford calls them)" are bolted onto the truck bed, right under the taillights on the inside.

they are diff. on the 2008. bout 10.00 bucks a piece.

when everything is painted and ready to go on, i plan on taking detailed pics, part numbers, and step by step instructions, so if anyone else wants to do the same, you will have everything you need.
