I don't know of any disadvantages but the advantages I've seen is that the heater works a whole bunch better than before. Before it took for ever to get the cab warm now it can get 3 degrees cooler than hell inside (the wife loves it...).I think the truck runs better with it but that could be me wishing. It's supposed to put the engine at a better operating temp and even under a big load it doesn't seem to move hardly any. Before you could see it climb but now it stays pretty much in one spot. It's a cheap change that should make the engine more efficient and if nothing else it makes the heater work better.

Another advantage is getting hotter coolant to heat my SVO system through its coolant loop. I really do see coolant temps of 200* to 204*F. :sweet
