285/75r16

Need new rubber on the front real soon, and was thinking about changing them all. Will these fit on my stock 97 f250 without any rubbing? Will they look too fat on my stock 7" wheels?

I've got 265/75 16's on mine, and I get a bit of rubbing during sharp turns. I think you'll have much the same problem with 285's, but not sure how much of a difference it'd make. Personally, 265 is about as big as I'd go. Looks good to me, not too small, and not too fat, either..

I would say 265's would probably be your max. A 285 is quite a bit bigger. Roughly 1.5" taller and an 1" wider. Just my 2c...

If your truck was a 4x4 you might need to shim the front bumper out a little(1/2")but other than that they would fit fine.

I don't know about fitting them on a 2wd.

I have never even seen a 2wd obs so I don't know. I am always in 4x4 mode. Sorry bout that. I will edit my other post and try to pay better attention in the future.

I had 285's on my stock Alcoa's and I think they looked great. As far as rubbing goes, you'll have to shim the front bumper out half and inch or so.

I love the looks of my 285s but I lost a full mile per gal when I changed. Lot more rubber on the road. Mileage was checked after adjusting for the 3% it throws the speedo off. My 285s don't rub but my truck is a 2001 also.

My rubbing doesn't come from the bumper, but instead from the front sway bar... It's pretty close to the bumper too, but I don't get rubbage there...
