Does anyone have an update on how the 3.55 rears have improved mileage, and are there any performance issues? thanks ahead of time.

Don't have one right now, always wanted one but couldn't convince myself to buy one whith fuel so high. Some kids wanted a Ferrari i wanted an f-250. Any way i have noticed some good deals as of late and wondering what the effect of the 3.55 rear has been.

well i dont see how the 3.55's would affect the newer 6.4 SD's any different than the older trucks.

i have 3.55's and when towing its not a rocket out of the hole, but it pulls great going down the highway, and it gets great mileage (18 empty, 16 with a loaded gooseneck, 14 with the bumper pull enclosed trailer)

the lower geared trucks can usually see the same mileage, but need to keep the speeds lower...4.10 geared trucks will start to see fuel mileage drop after about 55-60, where the 3.55's can go 70-75 before the economy drops off.

it really depends on the driving and towing you want to do.
