I was talking to the trans. guy at one of are local dealers here, and he told me if you tow in drive you will cut the life of your truck trans. in haft. The clutches in the trans. are not big enough to handed load in the drive mode. This goes for all 6.0, 6.4 and 6.9 trucks. One of the large companies here has 11 trucks at this dealer all getting new trans. because there guys were towing goose neck trailers with about 16k in tools and equipment weight in drive. New trans. costing about 6K each. I think the tow button is cheaper then a trans.

Sorry but I don't buy it, what killed those transmissions was heat. The guys towing goose neck trailers, didn't keep a eye on the temp gage, and most likely put the trucks in drive and hit the cruise control and let hum rip. For $6000.00 bucks he could get a BTS for that money.
