Question 6.0 Oil Pressure

I was wondering how long it should take to get oil pressure on a cold engine. Mine is taking about 5 seconds. With the Filter on top of the engine, does all of the oil drain slowly back into the oil pan? Thank in advance. Jim

mine has always taking a few sec to get oil pressure.

There is an anti drainback valve in the filter base to protect - but it has been known to fail.

Maryland isn't that cold - but you may want to look at a synthetic for better cold wx performance.
