I went to change my oil filter on my 95 powerstroke and the
steel washer/retainer which holds the fiber washer and spring for the oil filter
bypass fell out. I tried to peen it but it must have been lose and moved around and enlarged the hole slightly. anyone ever run in to this before
I priced the unit from ford and it's 230.00.
just wondering if anyone ran into this before

Is there anything I need to know about the the oil cooler when I change this other than the o-rings
thanks

Get new oil cooler o-rings (both ends) and the header gasket. Drain the coolant! Get the parts from Powerstrokeshop.com ($112 vs $250 for the filter adapter header!). Cheers!
