96 7.3 wont start

Turn the key and nothing, Iv'e checked all the fuses and circuit breakers and they appear to be OK. No check engine light, all accesories working. Don't know if this has anything to do with it but this afternoon I was hitching up me travel trailer on a slight incline, after I had dropped the trailer on to the hitch ball and removed the chocks from the trailer wheels I foolishly released the parking brake without having my foot on the brake pedal, this caused the gear selector to become jammed in PARK. When I finally got the gear selector to release I went from NEUTRAL back to PARK and the turned the ignition key, NOTHING, NOT A, KAPUT. Any suggestions other than cussing it will be appreciated.

it sounds like a cps but the big question is. does the starter try to turn over?
if so then im not sure it would be the CPS

do you know if your starters good... check the selonoid?.... id check there first....

I'll check out the starter and starter solenoid first thing in the morning, I'm retired, no hurry.

I replaced the starter solenoid this morning and I'm on the road again. Thanks!
