Started it up this morning ran normal for about 3 minutes then died. Won't start. No WTS light. No power to the GPR . Replaced the Gpr. Still nothing. #22 Maxi-fuse is blown, replaced , blown. Unplugged fuel heater, No blown fuse. WTS light now comes on. It flickers upon turning key on then lights up normal. (this is a new thing used to light up normal) Still no start. Would a bad CPS not allow power to go to the GPR?

HELP!!!!

Thanks

The cps shouldn't effect the glow plug relay in anyway. Is there a visible wiring damage or a short somewhere? Possibility that the fuel heater has gone bad and created a short? Melted wiring?

I think the fuel heater has gone bad. With it unplugged it does not blow #22 fuse. Still cranks with nothing. The tach does not move at all when cranking. I can't see any visible bad wiring. I have checked the plugs and wires around the fuel filter.

Is there anyway that the CPS could affect the WTS start light and or the glow plug relay. IT seems that they would be independent of each other. But I am not getting any power at the GPR (to the Glow pug side)

Oops! I guess PatrickC already gave me the answer to that question. I am heading back out this morning to replace the CPS. I guess I will take it from there.

Then I would say that the GPR is bad also, but the two incidents are not related.

GPR is working. Crank it with no start. Tach is not moving but has slightly come of off the peg. Replaced the CPS , still nothing. Batteries are fully charged. Cranks over fine. Seems to be getting plenty of fuel. I checked the fuel going in and coming out of the return. Where can I get a code reader and is there a certain type that I should be looking for?

Any Ideas????

Thanks

Do you have any white smoke while cranking? Is the CEL on? How old are your batteries?

There is not white smoke, or any smoke for that matter. No CEL light and I think the batts are about 3 years old. I just had them tested about 1 month ago. They were ok. He did say the starter was drawing a fair amount while cranking. But within normal range. It seems to crank over fast and normal
