97 7.3 sudden loss of power

I have been having a loss of power and stall with my 97 7.3. So far from reading all of the post I have cleaned the fpr screen and I have put in a new lift pump. After I cleaned the fpr screen the truck ran great for about 2 weeks before it did it again. Before this It would run fine for about 3 to 4 days before it would start surging. The stalling is when I come to a stop.

When It stalls does the tach fall down to 0, if not its probly not the cps, when my cps went mine would die anytime not just when I come to a stop. does it start right up when you restart or does it crank for a while? if it cranks for a while watch you tach and see if it moves or not when you trying to start if it does not move it probly is the cps. sounds more like a high pressure oil problem. might check into your injection control pressure sensor or the injection pressure regulater. hope this helps

It will start right back up after it stalls. One other thing I have noticed is that when it is going to buck and surge the trans takes about a half mile on the freeway before it will shift into overdrive. I had the trans rebuilt less than a year ago. When all of this started I took it back to the tranny shop and it checked out fine. Could the cmp going out also cause this problem.
