i have seen the one you are talking about. i believe that one was tested to make an increase of 5 to 10HP. it allows more air to flow, and allows it to flow more freely, because the sharp squared off 90* turn goin down has been eliminated.

i currently have the banks monster air intake manifold.

Do they work ?

i believe it does work, but what exactly do you mean by work?

will you see a HUGE increase in powerw? nope.

you may not really even notice too much, BUT, the air is flowing more efficienty and unobstructed than the stock elbow.

just take a good look at the two, and see what you notice about them.

the stock one has 90* down turn, that is not very flow friendly.

the aftermarket one is more rounded, thus allowing the air to move better.

here is what the manuf. has to say about their own findings.

Features include:

Airflow increased by 40%

Lower EGT's

Increased mileage

Less back perssure

Boost port for aftermarket boost gauges

Easy Installation!

Available in a cast or cast polished finish

Independent dyno tests, conducted by Jim D'Amore of JDM Engineering, showed a 9hp advantage over stock with no other changes and an equal increase in torque. The reduction in back pressure alone will increase the life of the turbo.

the link you posted, stated that it did help with EGT's.

any time you can increase airflow efficiency, you will bring in more air, and lower EGT's.

how much lower? i dont know. you could see what you normally run, versus what you would run with the new elbow.

call em up and ask 'em all kinds of question.

you may want to also check out the one that discountpowerparts.com has in stock. Link to thread and website
