My truck wouldn't start, virtually no fuel pressure (maybe 10 PSI). I disconnected the Air Dog unit to isolate the fuel pump. I turned the key on and suddenly got 55 PSI. Plugged in the Air Dog unit and pressure raised to 60 PSI. Shut truck down and tried to restart, again not enough pressure. Turn off the key, disconnect the AIR Dog, turn key on I get 55 PSI, plug the AIR DOG in and I get 60 PSI. This is repeatable. The truck suddenly doesn't like the Air Dog unit, until after the Ford pump is already running. I also noticed that the Ford pump is louder (almost sounds like gravel in it) when I first turn the key on.
Could the fuel pump be going bad, or is the Air Dog unit going bad. I have good fuel pressure either with the stock pump running by itself while driving, or with the Air Dog unit engaged, as long as I let the truck start then engage the Air Dog unit.
Has anyone else ever experienced this?
