Air filter

Did a search but haven't found anything too definitive. Can we weigh in on alternatives to the stock filter? A friend of mine who just happens to be a service manager at a dealership runs this filter:

I've never heard of it before...but then again I'm coming over from the Chevy world.

I say the stock donaldson filter is best alternative while under warranty ! and beyond as far as I am concerned...
my stock one lasted 40K miles on my 03...
and clean as a whistle inside...

Have heard of turbos being "dusted" by too porous filter media....
