Interesting article.

Might be comparing apples to oranges but on my 2001 PSD with Gibson cat back exhaust and a scmt @ 60 HP setting.
I tried an AFE and my truck smoked. The filter also rubbed up against the hood insulation.
I also tried a volant(sp?) which I liked. I didn't like the price. So I run a stock air filter.
I've never dyno'ed my truck. It gets 20 + or - MPG empty and tows as much as I can legally tow easily and that's all I am concerned about

On the flow bench, the stock system flowed a whopping 766.15 cfm. By comparison, the new '05 Airaid Power Stroke intake system flowed nearly 1,000 cfm (997.39 cfm) at 20 inches of water.
