Finished with Juneau and our next stop was Sitka, the town that was founded by Russians way before America became involved. There are several glaciers in Sitka and we walked to the viewing area and later took a helicopter trip to the glacier. They let us off on top of the ice and we all walked around for half an hour. We are just leaving Ketchikan after a very short visit. We had scheduled an seaplane tour of a glacier via air. We took off and did not get but a few miles of our departure point when the pilot turned around and returned to our departure piont. The weather had closed in and prevented our safe flight. We are now leaving Ketchikan and headed to Victoria, Canada.

Glad your pilot turned around -- 06/04/13 near Petersburg, his colleague did not. National Geographic Sea Bird had set up the flights for around 25 passengers...Last trip of the day included 1 fatality, 2 serious injuries, at least 7 changed lives, and a destroyed DeHavilland Beaver. Sucked for the families.

It is absolutely beautiful however. God speed and hope your trip is going AWESOME!

It is over now... Heading back to the lovely town of Ukiah. Boarding a flight out of Seattle in a couple of hours.
