We used to be a regular attendees at the classic car events held at Sears Point(now Infineon) and Laguna Seca when we resided on the left coast.
So many beautiful cars but none I could afford at the time;) :)

I took a motorcycle racing school (california superbike skool) at
that very track....great place...PERFECT track !

RAINED the ENTIRE weekend and i NEVER rode on the track when
it WASNT wet...best fun ive ever had (w/ my pants on)...and i LEARNED
a TON !

What did you think of Keith Code?? Dudes a legend.

I'd love to take my 6.0 out on a road course, straighten up some corners and really test it's road handling abilities, of course I'd need to remove the doors so I could hang out and drag my knees :roflmao

code is a pompous ass ...luckily you only have to tollerate him
for the FIRST session/day...and then its onto those that DO <vs those
that talk about it>

at the same time....and the feeling about code is almost universal from
those that were in my particular session...he does have a unique way
of instructing (when hes not selling for L Ron Hubbard)...he gives you
a little bit of info...tells you to go use it, comes back and talks about
the instructions you were given and the possible "mental" blocks that you
had to work w/...then he gives you something ELSE to try...by the time
you come back from session TWO you dont even REALIZE you were
using the instructions given you in lesson ONE...its kinda interesting
how the SKILLS and INSTRUCTIONS BUILD on EACH OTHER & allow you
to be smoother and faster...

it also helps to have instructors on the track that are watching and
will pull you in to follow them (seemingly DANGEROUSLY CLOSE) so you
get past your "block"...

it POURED the ENTIRE TIME...i was wet but smiling the entire time...
1st lap you see these instructors riding the same bikes as you (same tires
too) WIZZING by you...while i was white knuckled in the rain...two laps
(at the most) of getting your doors blown in & you start to pick up the
pace too..."hey if hes on the same bike/tires dragin' knee in the rain i bet
i could go a LITTLE bit faster than what im doin too..."

Dang, glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks like this. He's still a hell of a racer and does know how to instruct.

Racing in the rain sucks.

All you hear are these rumors of how he can out ride anyone on this
old gpz550 (thats w/ 'em every where they instruct)...no one that i
know or has taken his class has ever seen 'em ride...but like you say
he KNOWS how to instruct...hes taught some of the BEST in the world.

'nother thing i didnt care for was his L RON HUBBARD stuff all over the
place...for you to buy...

as for racing in the rain...absolutely the BEST thing that could happen...
now i BETTER know my limits on the track & on the street in the rain...
and ive ridden LOTS of miles (my fav. is long distance stuff)...and i ride
rain or COLD.

I used to REGULARLY commute 90-120miles each way as cold as 17*...
'long as there wasnt ice (or snow) on the ROAD i rode to work.
