Well im sure my outside TEMP GAUGE is incorrect. And last night i had 3/4 of a tank of gas driving on the freeway getting 20 mpg. But today when i had 1/2 tank driving on the freeway i got 16 mpg. Driving 65 both times. Anybody else think there gauges are off. Its not that big of a problem to me. Just wondering.
thx

Maybe you had a large amount of tail wind when you got 20 mpg :D As for the gauges I am not sure. Are you drafting off trucks? :thumbs

havent been drafting off any trucks YET. LOL.. well i havent even filled my tank yet. i was just thinking MAYBE the truck gets better mpg when its closer to full... i dont know. i just find it weird that my outside temp gauge is incorrect and people say the stock boost gauge isnt accurate. :dunno
it just seems wierd to me that the factory gauges wouldnt be correct. if anything you would think they would have there sh*t together....:roflmao

thx

Some of those gauges would be dummy gauges, they show something but it might not be accurate. That's what I think.

The guages are falsified to keep customers from coming into the dealer and saying "my temperature guage is low, fix it". So Ford has the guages run from the output of the PCM and they do what the PCM tells them to say. That is why you add your own guages. This is not new.

well i never had this problem with my subaru wrx. it came with a boost gauge and was completly accurate. but thanks for the info anyways. im going to look for some autometer gauges, and a turbo back exhaust. i have a friend thats a diesel mech at ford. he can help me install it cause thats what he does all day. the only thing is he is 6 hrs away. but if i get enought stuff together we could do it over the weekend. :D
thx

there was a TSB about temp. guage (dont know the model years)
and all the recall did was reset how much the GUAGE moved and when...
MOST of the guages in any car these days are resistive "range" guages...
for example:

from 0-5 (you get a quarter movement) from 10-20 you get another quarter
etc etc...the point is theres no gradual increase...from 0-5 you get the
same indication...and theres no movement until you reach the next
resistive increment.
