I have a 2012 F350 6.7 and the transmission started acting up. Old school had me thinking the transmission was going out, it's got 300K+ miles. After lots of searching on forums and YouTube we bought a used TCM from EBay, plugged it in and it appears to fix the problems. Truck runs and shift fine now, but I know I can't put it in service until the TCM is flashed and sync'd with the PCM. It has EGR delete and dealer won't touch of course and they don't sell new TCM's anymore. Local shop said they can retune for me, but they can't set back to factory tune which is required first. Now what is sounding like the more difficult problem is getting it correctly tuned again. It was bought with EGR delete and tune in it. I don't think there was much tunned in for performance, it was primarily tuned for DEF deletion. Needless to say we don't have the tuner and can't find the guy that tuned it. Sounds like I need to find someone who can tune my new(used) TCM and PCM to match my VIN, then I can buy a tuner and re-tune.
