How the heck do you know which one is not working if the batt light comes on in the dash and the batts still have a green eye. I know the green eye is only one cell and the other cells might not be good. Any thoughts?

Well, if you can get it started put a multi meter on it and see what the voltage is while its running..............s/b 13-14volts. If your voltage is the same both running and stopped it would suggest a bad alternator.

Or...........take it to your local auto supply store and them check it for you.

The batteries can also be tested independently. just disconnect each to do the load test.
