Hey guys I've tried searching but can't seem to find if 99's have a factory port to plug in a brake controller wiring harness. Can someone tell me where I can find this in my truck?

Trailer tow was an option for 99 and 00 years XL and XLT models. Option on 01 and up XL models.

Found this, dont know if it helps, go down to the bottom of page and click on the Super Duty link. If it has factory plug it might be located behind the sunglass holder on the back side. There is a clip that holds it there. I am not positive if it has one or not, Trackspeeder may be right. Good luck!!

You are absolutely correct! If you still have the harness in your glove box, all the trucks came with the harness that plugs directly into that port.

Unfortunately I don’t still have the harness, but I bought one that I hope will fit from an auction for $8 shipped.

After everything is wired up you may want to check your under hood fuse box. After pluging my harness in and getting my box hooked up I had no power to the box. I needed to add a couple of fuses in order for everything to work correctly. I don't remember the numbers but they will be listed in your owners manual.
You know Ford sure made the brake box plug hard to get at. If they had put it on the drivers side if that brace it would a lot easier to access.
