I had read an incredible number of posts on these handy little mirrors, what I haven't seen is the problem I've had.

The two halves of the brackets that clamp around the arms of the Trailer Towing mirrors don't meet. (They do when they come out of the box.) There is a gap at the top and the bottom that is very obvious and really detracts from a great product. Tightening the screws doesn't help, something would snap long before the gap would disappear.

I had my first road trip with them today, and the difference is amazing. You always find yourself looking into them. But I can't get around the gaps. Is this how they are supposed to look? Because that doesn't cut it!

Any experience with this?

they dont meet...least mine dont...the need to SLIDE
theyre tight enough that i get zero vibration.

i dont think it detracts terribly...i painted my screw heads
and the nyloc nutz black....they detracted far more in my opinion.

Like he said, the mounting brackets for the mirror head surround the upper and lower arms of the Trailer Towing mirrors; and the twin "C" shaped ends do not meet perfectly. They really aren't even that close, and with the rubber inserts in the brackets I don't see how the C-Betrs could slide.

It's all about the looks!

No gap on mine. Got 'em back in '03. They do slide on the arms with a bit of coaxing. I like 'em a whole lot better than the OEM "low-profile" mirrors.

I just got off the phone with Mac at C-Betr and he tells me a small gap is normal.

Nice guy, very helpful.

So there you go, a gap is normal.

they do slide...and theyll NEED to if you ever try to fold
your mirrors in...

youll have to pull the c-betr out toward the large mirror 1st,
to prevent the c-betr from contacting the glass/window...try
folding' 'em w/out moving the c-betr's and youll wind up w/ SOMETHING
broken
