what is the fuel cackle noise? What causes it? How can it be fixed?

It caused by sucking air into the fuel and passing it into the fuel rails. It gets pushed through the injectors and causes noise. Most of the noise sounds like a coffee can with marbles being shaken at idle and 1500-1800 rpm.
Hutch mod took mine away. There is a mixing valve in the tank that has to be eliminated and the pre pump fuel lines have quick disconnect fitting that will suck air also.

I minimized my cackle by the above mentioned items. I also installed a fuel return system from the cylinder heads back to the tank.
The oem setup has the fuel rails deadended to each cylinder head. This is not good for any trapped air pockets in the fuel rails as this air has no place to go except into the fuel injectors - not a good situation.
The rerouting of the fuel return lines from the fuel rails to the tank helps to minmize the "cackle" and provides less air entrapped fuel to the expensive injectors.
