. . . cause it sounds so good I can't keep my foot out of the throttle - :D :thumbs :D

Bushpilot came over last to "borrow" my cat since his wasn't in the state - so we switched his delete pipe with my cat (okay - I watched :p while he worked) - and man - reminds me of my 01 with the turbo back duals :sweet

Needless to say - he ain't getting it back :D

my wife says she notices a diff <from completely stock> but
damm if i really can tell a diff under steady/cruise on the interstate.

UNDER FULL throttle you can really hear it <sounds good & in
my opinion its control-able>

at idle the w/ the test pipe you can hear a "wooooosh-ing" <like a
quiet jet engine>

by no means do i consider it to be obnoxious...and its not nearly
as loud as some of the 6.0's that ive heard w/ completely STRAIGHT
exhausts <no muffler etc>

an interesting part, worth mentioning, is that i was able to pull the
test pipe and install the cat on TWO trucks in about 45mins at the most...
two bolts @ the cat/flange & one U/muffler clamp and the removal of the
rubber hanger and it <the cat OR the test pipe> was off.

the MBRP test pipe is precisely the same lenth as the cat...so it made no
diff. that one truck was a long bed and the other was a short bed...

i had to trim (read SHORTEN) the stainless hanger that sticks off the test
pipe...it was simply too long and touched the frame when installed...a sawsall
or wizzer/cutting wheel would make SHORT work of this small (but necessary
in my opinion) modification.

Hard to say - I drove all day with the stereo off so I could hear the music coming from the rear :sweet
But I would have to say that at highway speeds and idle - don't think it was really any difference. Now getting up and off the lines - that was a different story. :burnit With the cat on - I really could not hear it as well although most people tell me it sounds good - but now it's pretty much like the 01 turbo back system - great deep throaty sound.

No problem - just wish I could have been of some actual use - but now we know!

absolutely...i did the exchange on TWO trucks in no more than 45min
with HAND TOOLS ....TWO bolts (at the cat/down pipe flange) and
one muffler/U-clamp...i slid the rear pipes back (while they were
STILL hanging from their rubber hanger/mounts)...pulled the cat out
& then slide the test pipe in...tighten two bolts & the u-clamp
and youre done.

some of this "time" was cause the factory cat/flange uses diff. size
nuts/bolts...no big deal just had to search for the right socket...

interestingly enough RON has a silverline cat back, where i have a
turbo-back MBRP...but again because the test pipe is the same length
of as the factory cat it should work on ANY system.

heres a link to the Test Pipe...51 bucks <tell 'em Don R. sent you and
theyll give you free shipping ;) > MBRP CAT DELETE TEST PIPE

Emissions? On a Diesel? I have been using the same station here for State inspections for like the last 20-25 years - for me they just say honk the horn, turn on the headlights - you passed :p
Seriously we don't have diesel emission inspections here that I know of.

Really guys - for $50 bucks or so - this is a great cheap mod - and "Wife Friendly" - at least in my house :D The wife asked what we were doing - told her - she smiled and said - "I don't wanna know" . . .:thumbs

And like Don said - you could do this change in 20 mins - he took about 45 mins (two trucks) cause I was yakkin instead of helping.
