Being new to having a diesel, I was wandering if there was a certain process needed to be followed when changing the fuel filter.

No big deal.

Short instructions off the top of my head:

1. Drain fuel bowl with the little yellow lever on the side of bowl. Fuel will drain over front axle-use a drain pan. A small piece of hose hooked to drain tube helps direct in into the pan

2. Unscrew filter top

3. Replace filter

4. Screw top back on - make sure you properly install the gasket, there should be instructions on the gasket package that came with the filter.

Any issues if you don't drain the fuel in the bowl before you remove and install the filters?

Just messy. It is also a good idea to drain it so you know there is no water in the bottom.

Figured that. I've done it with and without draining it, just was curious if it actually mattered. No problems here.
