I have purchased new upper and lower radiator hoses for the truck. I bought the hose for a truck with dual alternators so that it would go outside the serp. belt. I intended to buy the thermostat housing, but the one that they showed my was much longer than the one that is on the truck now.

Is the thermostat housing on the dual alternator setup longer that the one on the single alternator setup?

nope its the same housing size,
when you put on the new hose, use some good antichaf material (piece of rubber or the like and then clamp it real good the bracket. its stil close the the belt but now its so much easier to change belts , in weird places like in the dark along some snow covered road
