what hardware/components or how do you learn to do this? im sure it kind of a trade secret. i thought i heard of a program called Menetor?r something like it? that you could burn and change your own programs?

Moates.net? They have one but how you go about changing one item to another value is not there, just the programming tools. Check this out to see if it is close to what you want.
