Cigarette lighter to power outlet.

Is it possible to pull out the cigarette lighter and replace it with the a power outlet (like the one on the right side of the radio). It is a 2008 F-350 XLT.

No real need to do that, IMO

I've been useing my Cig. Lighter socket for All Kinds of 12v needs.. for years.

Or am I missing something ??

When I plug in my cell phone charger it does not constantly charge (it seems to cycle on and off). My power outlet gives a constant charge.

Hmmmm. Mine is powered-up all the time.. could be the Dif. between an 08 anda 00

Or a touchy recharger connector

Mine stays on all of the time, also. Like Joe suggested, try moving the charger while in the cig lighter socket and see what happens. Sounds like you are not making a good connection.

I checked mine and it stays on all the time. I have a 08 too.

I will try it again (after I replace the fuse...my wife tried starting the truck by putting the key in the cigarette lighter )

I am pretty sure that will not work on an 08....
