I have an oil leak down the drivers side of the block and followed it back to what I think is the CMP sensor. I read that there is o rings there that can be changed. My question is, is this a common problem and what is the procedure to get at the CMP (it dosen't look easy to get at). One more question does any one have the part number for the o rings. Thank-you in advance and compliments to the site I have fixed many a problem by reading/researching here.

CMP Sensor??? What are you referring to? I have never heard that term used with 7.3 Ford Trucks. CPS, ICP, are terms that are common.

I just looked this up and the Cam Position Sensor, on the 6.0 engine, is located behind the Power Steering Pump. It does have an o-ring that can be changed. No big deal to remove and repair it. Apply clean engine oil when you replace it and torque to 8 lb-ft. That is correct, eight pound feet of torque. I generally call that "just barely tight".

it would be easier to change if the ps pump is removed, but can be done....
