Coolant Leak

In the past two weeks i have had to put about a half a gallon of red coolant into my surge tank i can see the coolant on my the right hand side so i wipe the truck down to see if it would happen again. So 2 days ago i went on a 1200 mile trip to the oregon coast and when i got back again coolant was all over the engine.

I called Country Ford down by me and they said they would have the service manager get back to me as soon as possible.

I think its a problem with the surge tank.

What do you think guys?

My truck has 54000 miles on it and its a 06.

is that the same thing as the degaus bottle??

if so, i had to replace mine after 147,000 miles. it had a big crack at the bottom of it.

if the bottle is not cracked, it could be that your engine is puking.

head gaskets maybe?

Well the Service manager got a a hold of me and said that there is a recall on my surge tank the min. line is the new max line. And they fix it by putting a sticker over it.

gotta love it you buy a 40,000 dollar pickup and they fix it with a sticker.

youre overfilling the bottle...or its cracked as stephen says...

take it in for the sticker or stop over filling it....you might not
like the fix...but it resolves the problem...your could keep
over filling and complaining...

yeah i was filling the surge tank to the original full line and it was comming out and the manager said the minimum line is the new full line. So i was overfilling it and the system was pushing it out

The Early 7.3s had the wrong line on the dip stick
