Dana 50 solutions?

Being basically a 60 housing, is it possible (or practical) to machine the housing to 60 specs so I can run the bigger internals with 35 splines?

possible, I believe so, practical nope. especially when you consider the cost to buy an entire axle from a salvage yard. Look @ Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and you might be surprised that by the time you do the machine work, buy axle shafts, gears, carrier etc that you'll be well over the cost of buying a hub to hub axle from a junk yard.
