The batteries in my 99 f350 psd go dead after sitting for a week. If i drive it every day they seem to stay charged. How do i test for bad batteries or a drain of the batteries. the batteries are 3 year old diehards.

Easiest way is to take them in to autozone, oreilly's someplace like that.... have them load test them and they can tell you if they're good or not.

For at-home testing, what I'd do is unhook the batteries when you're going to leave it set for a while....when you hook it back up if it cranks, you might have something that's draining the battery, you just have to track that down. If it doesn't start after being unhooked, you know your batteries are dead...be sure to replace both at the same time....

I had the batteries tested and sure enough they were bad. At only 39 months of age just 3 months out of there full replacemant warranty. I remember when a diehard would go 5-6 years. Sears pro rated the replacemant and i got a new pair for just $100.

Got mine from Wal-mart. Just had one go bad after 6 years. Hoping the other will go bad before the replacement warranty runs out.
