the wifes truck has no peddle, you can pump them up alittle but will bleed down to the flour.
i took off the rear passager side drum today.of course a spring fell out when i got the drum off.the front side shoe was kinda hanging their so i think the spring is what holds it in.
i have never been any good with doing drum brakes .
so if theirs a how to out their please point me that way.
can these spring be bought at a auto store?

Are any of your wheel cylinders leaking or the master cylinder? Pedal bleeding to the floor is a sign of this.

ford did have a tsb regarding the sinking pedal when holding for extended periods of time. The replacement was a zero loss brake booster.

Parts are available @ the parts store go ahead and replace all of the springs on both sides while you're at it.
