I have a new 2010 F-450 (see signature) and use it to tow our home from place to place. I previously had a Dodge and had guages on it just to monitor the performance. My f-450 has the turbo boost and transmission temp guage in the center cluster. I do know the the egt is a serious issue if it gets too high and is not monitored. Is the wastegate the type that it takes care of itself in that respect? I was looking at the quadzilla product to hookup just to monitor, but don't want to purchase unnecessary guages or pods. I did a search for post relating, but did not locate anything specific to my question. Thanks for the helps and ideas.

A waste gate does almost nothing for your EGTs. It is after the turbo has used the exhaust gases. You NEED an EGT gauge! I don't have any opinion on which type you use, just get one.

Dave :)
